Luigi Vagnarelli on site during a timber flooring installation

Our Story

Built by hand, one floor at a time.

LV Parquet is run by Luigi Vagnarelli, a third-generation flooring craftsman from Rome with more than 35 years in timber flooring and parquetry. He began working independently in Italy in 1990, taking on everything from traditional parquet restoration to detailed installations, custom colouring and decorative flooring inlaid with brass, marble and stone.

He brought that experience to Melbourne, where LV Parquet now works in European Oak, Herringbone and Chevron patterns, solid and engineered timber, recycled floorboards and the restoration of existing floors, all finished with premium water-based and natural oil systems built to last.

What Drives Us

Our values.

01

Restoration before replacement, always

An original floor is almost always worth saving. We'll tell you honestly when it isn't.

02

The unseen work matters most

Moisture testing, levelling and acclimatisation aren't optional extras. They're invisible once the boards are down and the reason a floor still looks right in fifteen years.

03

Your home, not a worksite

This is your home, not a job site. We work cleanly, keep the noise down where we can, and respect that you're living around us.

04

A quiet kind of reliability

We turn up when we say we will, quote fairly and finish when promised. No surprises, just the highest level of craftsmanship for your home.

How We Work

The LV Parquet Process

  1. 01

    Consultation

We visit your home, look at the existing floor and talk through what you want the finished result to look like.

  2. 02

    Inspection

A close look at the timber, subfloor and moisture levels tells us exactly what the job actually needs.

  3. 03

    Preparation

Levelling, moisture testing and acclimatising the timber. Unglamorous work that decides how the floor performs for years.

  4. 04

    Installation / Restoration

Boards are laid, fixed or restored by hand, board by board, to the pattern and finish agreed on site.

  5. 05

    Sanding

Multiple passes with progressively finer grits strip back the old surface and bring the timber back to level.

  6. 06

    Finishing

Stain, oil or sealer is applied by hand and left to cure properly before anyone walks on it.

  7. 07

    Final Inspection

We walk the floor with you, check every edge and skirting, and only call it done when you do.
